I initially reached out due to having latch issues with my newborn and a clogged duct a couple of weeks later. Hilary was available immediately to help and has been great help in making my breastfeeding journey as pain free as possible. She is incredible helpful and responsive, I would highly recommend.Posted on Aymon MalikTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I scheduled my appointment with Simply Lactation when my baby was scream crying three minutes into his feed. They scheduled me for a virtual appointment for the very next day and an in-house visit just a few days after. Safiya figured out the problem almost instantly and gave me curated guidance on how to best feed my son. She asked if her student could come along and both of them had such positive and warm presences in our home. Our appointments are very calm, easy, and yet very productive! My son has been feeding better since that very first appointment and feeds better as I implement techniques discussed at the subsequent appointments. I’ve already started recommending her to my other breastfeeding friends! If you’re looking for a good lactation consultant with emotional intelligence and competence, I would 100/10 recommend SimplyLactation!Posted on Jessica KeeseeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They got back to me so quickly and even had availability the next day, which I was so grateful for. I had the pleasure of working with Donique—she answered all of my questions and was so helpful, especially with this being my first baby and the latching issues I’ve been having. She was honestly so sweet and gentle, both with me and my baby. Highly recommend!Posted on Urmi RTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend scheduling with simply lactation, especially when you’ve gone home from the hospital. The hospital consultant did not provide me correct information, and I was even pumping with the wrong flange size, which created so much stress and frustration for me. Scheduling a home visit was extremely fast, an evaluation was scheduled within a few days. Safiya came to my home and was warm and kind from the start, gave a proper evaluation including measurements and thorough discussion. As a first time mom, I appreciate her sharing her own experiences and encouraging me through every step. I’ve already recommended this company to several of my friends and will continue to do so. Since Safiya has come, my breastfeeding journey has improved so much, and my stress has significantly decreased as well. I can see her genuine excitement to see my son growing and I appreciate how much she cares. Do not hesitate to get an evaluation from Simply Lactation, schedule with them right away to give yourself the best chance at a successful breastfeeding and pumping experience!Load more

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens during a lactation consultation?
Each session starts with a detailed discussion about your baby’s feeding history and your breastfeeding experience. Your consultant will observe a feeding, assess latch and positioning, check for tongue or lip ties, and create a personalized feeding plan with practical steps you can follow right away.
Are your services covered by insurance?
Yes! We accept Aetna, Cigna, BlueCross BlueShield, and United Healthcare, and most plans cover up to six visits with no out-of-pocket cost as part of preventive care. Virtual and in-home visits are typically included.
How soon can I get an appointment?
We offer next-day appointments in most cases. Once you fill out the form, our team verifies your insurance and schedules your session as soon as possible.
Do you offer in-home visits or virtual consultations?
Yes, both! You can book an in-home visit if you prefer hands-on guidance or a virtual consultation if you’d like support from the comfort of your home—especially ideal for new moms recovering postpartum.
Can you help with milk supply or pumping issues?
Absolutely. Our IBCLCs are experts in milk supply management, flange sizing, pumping schedules, and storage guidance. Many moms see improvement after just one visit.
My baby has a tongue tie. Can you help?
Yes. Our consultants are trained to identify and support tongue and lip tie concerns. We also coordinate care with pediatricians and dentists if a release procedure is needed, and provide post-procedure feeding guidance.
What if I’m a first-time mom and just need reassurance?
You’re not alone. Many moms book their first consultation just for peace of mind. We’ll walk you through best practices, check baby’s latch and feeding patterns, and answer all your questions—big or small.
Can you help if I’m combination feeding or exclusively pumping?
Yes! We support all feeding goals—exclusive breastfeeding, pumping, or formula supplementation. Our goal is to help you feel confident and informed in whatever feeding plan works best for your family.
Do you follow up after the visit?
Yes. You’ll receive a written care plan and ongoing follow-up via text or email to make sure you’re supported as things evolve.
How experienced are your consultants?
Our team includes board-certified IBCLCs and registered nurses with over 25 years of combined experience, who have supported more than 25,000 mothers in their breastfeeding journeys.
