Kristina Tamez
BSN, RN, IBCLC
Kristina is a native Houstonian and graduate of Texas Woman’s University–Houston 33 years ago, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her passion for birth began as a teenager when she served as a labor coach for a close friend—a transformative experience that inspired her career in labor and delivery.
Kristina served families at Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center and Woman’s Hospital in Houston supporting countless women through labor and birth, and doctor’s offices. After starting her own family, she devoted 20 years to homeschooling her four children then stepped back into birthwork serving as a Doula for a thriving midwife practice. She has volunteered and served as a private hire RN for labor and post partum in home care.
Today, Kristina is a Certified Professional Childbirth Educator with Spinning Babies® certification and IBLCE credentials.
Kristina considers it an honor to support families during one of life’s most intimate and transformative moments, becoming a parent. Her warm, compassionate approach helps parents feel informed, confident, and empowered as they welcome and care for their new baby. She currently works as a Lactation Consultant in a post partum unit in Houston.
Now that her own children are grown and now she is welcoming grandchildren in her spare time she loves boating, dancing and beaches with her loved ones and a fur baby.
