Shortly after giving birth to her first baby, Melissa’s sister had a baby who had many feeding difficulties. Melissa felt helpless because she didn’t know how to help, and this turned into a desire to learn more and get experience helping other parents meet their feeding goals.

Melissa is a certified maternal/newborn nurse with years of experience in postpartum and lactation departments.  Melissa has experience helping postpartum couplets, NICU babies and pumping, and pediatric patients, as well as seeing patients in the ER, ICU, and anywhere in the hospital where a patient needs lactation assistance.  Melissa also has experience teaching breastfeeding and newborn care classes.

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, three daughters, and two golden retrievers.  She also loves to read, craft, and travel.
